Mission Statement //

 

To survey members of the American Athletic and Big East conferences in order to identify the key issues affecting athletic trainers and physicians practicing in the sports medicine industry at American Athletic and Big East conference institutions and to provide a platform for discussion of such key issues; To facilitate the sharing of information among athletic trainers and physicians practicing in the sports medicine industry at American Athletic and Big East Conference institutions

 

Purpose //

 

Offer approved Continuing Education for Athletic Trainers

The Alliance for Intercollegiate Sports Medicine offers continuing education units (CEU) for the purpose to provide opportunity for the athletic trainer to a) explore new knowledge; b) obtain current professional development information, further advance clinical and judgement skills related to the practice of athletic training; and c) deliver programs for athletic trainers and other health care practitioners that encourage lifelong learning and professional collaboration toward patient care. This goal is accomplished through the development of educational activities that a) address knowledge, employ educational methods that are suitable to the specific content area, topic, and target audience; and b) disseminate current research and evidence-based knowledge and skills aligned with advancing the practice of athletic training.
